Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How do you compare to holographic diffusers?
A. Fusion Optix technology is a major advancement over holographic and embossed coating-based approaches both in terms of performance and cost. We are higher transmission for a given strength of diffusion and we have almost infinite range of properties we can put into our films. There are no up front tooling charges and we have developed low cost, extremely high volume manufacturing processes.

Q: I'm using ADF6060; why isn't my beam spread 60 degrees?
A: We measure the 60° angle using a collimated (laser) light source. Final output angle depends on the viewing angle of your source. For non-collimated light sources such as a fluorescent tube or LED please use the following formula to approximate the FWHM of the output: Light Output Formula

Q: Can I touch and clean your diffusion film?
A: Touching our films will not damage the optical properties in the same way as touching a holographic diffuser. Because we utilize volumetric diffusion within the bulk of the film, customers can touch the outside of the films with their fingers and clean them with IPA or Windex without inducing any damage. These unique properties also allow us to perform secondary processing on the film itself; including the films in our thin, rigid and non-flat lenses, allowing us to perform operations such as thermoforming without affecting the optical properties of the film.

Q: Do you offer free samples?
A: Yes. Simply fill in the sample request form and specify your interest in our film products. If you would like to purchase larger sample sizes, backlight unit kits, light guides, or LED arrays please contact our sales team for a quotation.

Q: Can I visit?
A: Sure, we like visitors. We live at 19 Wheeling Ave. Woburn MA 01801. Our official hours are 8:30am - 5:30pm, someone is usually here from at least 8am - 6:30pm.
