How Light Guides Work
Advanced Light Guide (ALG) performance is fueled by proprietary patterns for single- and double-edge lit designs that achieve the highest brightness uniformity. Our light guides are designed to work with LEDs at a particular spacing, but can be designed to work with tighter or more widely spaced LEDs.

Light from the LEDs is coupled into the light guide, using a reflector cavity for minimal light loss. Upon entering the light guide, light travels through the material until encountering a micro-structure, which causes it to scatter. The micro-structures are designed so that light will exit perpendicularly from the face of the light guide, maximixing head on brightness. The proprietary pattern of micro-structures provides maximum uniformity and efficiency of light extraction.
