Why We License
In order to accelerate the adoption of our technologies and products we have adopted an open minded approach to licensing some of our IP and collaborating with our customers through joint development agreements (JDAs). We also view licensing as a way of reinforcing relationships with our manufacturing and supply chain partners.
What We License
Our intellectual property portfolio encompasses several key materials and process innovations, new designs of optical components, and high performance system architectures related to advanced lighting and LCDs. Who We License
Typical licensees include; lighting OEMs, LCD panel and backlight unit makers, components manufacturers and suppliers of raw materials such as resins. In a typical OEM scenario, we license system-level IP and become a supplier of enabling components and/or materials. We have also licensed our IP to material suppliers and large-scale manufacturing companies to help build out a global supply chain.
Typical Terms
Although every license scenario tends to be different, typically licenses we grant to customers and partners are non-exclusive with upfront fees and royalties paid on products sold. As a rule we typically look for licensing deals that result in Fusion Optix becoming a long term partner and supplier or distributor of products so typically up-front and royalty fees are reduced when compared to other technology licensing companies. |
