A: We measure the 60° angle using a collimated (laser) light source. Final output angle depends on the viewing angle of your source. For non-collimated light sources such as a fluorescent tube or LED please use the following formula to approximate the FWHM of the output:
A: Try a microstructure film (RSF). For more specific suggestions please contact our Applications Engineering team.
A: Yes. We design light guides based on individual needs for both prototype and OEM customers. We can typically turn around a custom light guide within 2 weeks. In order to make a custom sized light guide please provide your size, thickness, and LED spacing. If tabs are required please provide a pdf or SolidWorks drawing.
A: Yes. We manufacture custom LED arrays for OEM customers based on their application, paying close attention to color temperature, CRI, brightness or illumination requirements, power, and lifetime. Please contact us with more information about your requirements for a quotation.
A: Yes. We both modify existing lighting systems, and design unique cutting edge lighting systems for both display and lighting applications. Depending on the scope and design requirements custom light engine projects can take as little as two weeks and up to 6 months for full design and development and implementation. Please contact our sales team with your ideas to discuss the possibilities Fusion Optix can offer.
A: We focus on the entire system, rather than just the light source or the optical properties. We have IP surrounding the components, as well as the system design. We design and manufacture each component that goes into our systems, the only exception being the LED package. We focus on edge-lit systems to create fixtures that are slim and adaptable.
A: Yes. Please visit the product pages to request 3"x6" samples of our film products. If you would like to purchase larger sample sizes, backlight unit kits, light guides, or LED arrays please contact our sales team for a quotation.
A: Yes. We make custom films according to our customers' requirements. These films are ~4" samples that can be scaled once performance is accepted by the customer. Lead time for custom films is typically <2 weeks depending on the nature of the film.
A: We encourage our customers to touch our diffusion films. Touching our films will not damage the optical properties. Because we utilize volumetric diffusion within the bulk of the film, customers can touch the outside of the films with their fingers and clean them with IPA or Windex without inducing any damage. These unique properties also allow us to perform secondary processing on the film itself; including the films in our thin, rigid and non-flat lenses, allowing us to perform operations such as thermoforming without affecting the optical properties of the film.
A: Yes. We can provide sample thin and rigid lenses to our customers with a quick turn around, typically < 1 week. Please send your drawing to our sales team for a quote.
