Artificial lighting consumes 8% of U.S. energy and 22% of U.S. electricity. We believe that a target of saving more than 10% of all electricity costs is both modest and achievable. This would result in annual energy savings of between $5 billion to $7 billion in U.S. alone, and more than double this figure if our solutions were adopted globally. Given that the largest consumer of fossil fuels is electricity generation, reducing energy consumption would also have a considerable and positive impact on the environment by reducing CO2 emissions and greenhouse gases which contribute to global warming.

At the heart of the company's offering are some of the world's most energy efficient components and LED lighting modules. Our components range typically results in 5%-30% improvement in system efficiency and our integrated components and modules can achieve even higher levels. In addition to energy efficiency, in most product categories we also offer industry leading light management performance, color control and reliability.

We have already made considerable progress commercially with our offerings which include components, modules, development kits and reference designs. Our innovations can already be found in products used every day in business, industry or the home, as well as in technically demanding medical, military, scientific and aerospace applications. We work as close as possible with our OEM customers and strive to reduce adoption costs and time to market by also supporting them with a variety of product design, development and rapid prototyping services.
