We work with a selection of high performance polymers such as PET, PETg, and PC.
As light travels from one material to the next it bends (based on Snell’s law) before it exits on opposite side of the film; we control the light’s path and its angular spread using a proprietary manufacturing process. ADF achieves uniformity with a combination of low clarity and high transmission and eliminates moiré effect.
There is a probabilistic function of scattered light that generates the overall angular output distribution. The transmitted light output of the film has a lambertian angular output that is approximately equal to (input angle2 + diffusion angle2).
We fully control the proprietary production process, which allows for short production cycles, rapid technical change, and ease of accommodation for numerous custom requirements for quantity production.
There are no microstructures on the surface of the film; this makes our films durable and reliable. ADFs can be handled without protective equipment and cleaned with non-abrasive surface cleaners like Windex or Isopropyl alcohol. |
