Light Guides

Used in conjunction with our optical films, the Advance Light Guide Series provides unparalleled performance in LED edge-lit backlights, solving problems such as hot-spotting and the “headlamp” effect. The ALG Series makes it possible to reduce overall backlight thickness and LED count, resulting in slimmer, more cost effective displays.

HOW IT WORKS

Advanced Diffusion Light Guides are powered by proprietary patterns for single and double edge lit designs to achieve the highest uniformity output. Our ADLs are designed to work with widely spaced LEDs without hot-spotting inherent in edge lighting, and to ensure even illumination throughout the entire screen.

The light travels from the LEDs into the light guide and exits upon hitting the microstructures that angle that light in the direction of the face of the backlight.
